Polarization Independent Optical Isolator

The polarization independent optical isolator adopts a Faraday rotator with combinational structure design to ensure optimum working status.
Meanwhile, in order to ensure optimized performance, this polarization insensitive optical isolator is fitted with a RoHS compliant collimator. The collimator is produced based on advanced polishing and adhesion techniques, offering very high environmental stability.


Applications
The polarization independent optical isolator is a kind of passive optical component which works based on the non-reciprocal behavior of Faraday rotator.


Working on the basis of the Faraday effect produced by magneto-optic effect, the device supports light transmission in only one certain direction, while preventing the light from being reflected back the opposite way. The important performance figures of the product include high return loss, high degree of isolation for back-reflected light, and low insertion loss in forward direction. Thus, the optical isolator can largely improve light transmission efficiency, and is commonly used in optical fiber amplifiers like EDFAs, fiber lasers, DWDM systems, and fiber-optic communications equipment.
