Drilling fluid desander is the solid control equipment of second phase for processing drilling fluid. It is fixed after shale shaker and degasser but before desilter to remove the abrasive solids from drilling fluid that the shale shaker cannot remove. According to the diameter of the hydrocyclone, the product can be divided into desander and desilter. Generally, the product uses the hydrocyclone with the diameter of no less than 6 inches. The most commonly used hydrocyclone is with the diameter of 10 inches and 12 inches for separating the solids with the diameter of 47 to 76μm from drilling fluid.

By using 10-inch hydrocyclone which is the main component of the product, our drilling fluid desander can separate the solids with the diameter ranging from 40 to 75μm. Made of 100% PU, the hydrocyclone can be used for a long time. It is designed with clamp type for easy maintenance. The drilling fluid enters into the hydrocyclone with the inlet pipe linking with the hydrocyclone tangentially to minimize turbulence in its upper section and allows for the solids moving quickly to the wall of the hydrocyclone. Meanwhile, the product can be designed with 1, 2 or 3 hydrocyclones for different capacities. It has the features of compact structure, small volume and user friendly assembly with flexible fast connection available. In addition, we can customize the product according to the needs of customers.

The drilling fluid desander has no moving parts. With the increase of its internal diameter, it can process more drilling fluid and remove the solids with larger size. The product can form a complete set of solids control system with the equipment of shale shaker, degasser, mud cleaner and decanting centrifuge. It is widely applied in oil field drilling.
