Neomycin Sulfate

Properties
Neomycin Sulfate is a white or off-white powder. It is odorless and extremely hygroscopic. This product is very soluble in water, but nearly insoluble in ethanol, diethyl ether, acetone or chloroform.

Uses
1. As a broad-spectrum antibiotic, Neomycin Sulfate is effective against S. aureus, Diphtheria bacilli, and Bacillus anthracis.
2. Its antibacterial spectrum is similar to that of Kanamycin. As an aminoglycoside antibiotic, this product provides an effective antibacterial action on Goldenstaph and Enterobacteriaceae. Bacteria have low-speed resistance to neomycin. Partial or complete cross-resistance exists between Streptomycin, Kanamycin and Gentamicin.
3. If used for oral administration, Neomycin Sulfate can treat intestinal infections. It also has a superb curative effect on skin, eye, ear infections and endometritis caused by Staphylococcus aureus and Gram-negative bacilli.
