The DWDM chain transmission solution can described as following. We set 16 DWDM transmission channels at node A. Therein one of the sixteen channels is linked to node B, and rest fifteen channels are linked to node C. According to the current actual need for optical transmission, we open one channel for GE transmission between A and B, and one channel for 10GE transmission between A and C. The rest fourteen channels are reserved for the capacity extension later. In this solution, the optical transmission power of each node is marked, and we deliberately make the marked power more than actual need so as to ensure the undistorted transmission. For your information, the 10G SDH transmission has the minimum SNR of 22dB, and can ensure the undistorted optical transmission.
