Properties
2-Carboxyethyl (Phenyl) Phosphinic Acid can be abbreviated as CEPPA. It is permanently flame-retardant when applied in polyesters, textiles, and more. This product is soluble in water, glycol and other solvents. It is stable in room temperature, and it provides weak water adsorption in normal temperature.
Uses and Characteristics
1. CEPPA is a reactive type halogen-free flame retardant. Permanently flame-retardant polyester chips can be synthesized by copolymerization of terephthalic acid (PTA), ethanediol (EG), and CEPPA. They are characterized by good spinnability and everlasting fire-retardant performance.
2. This product has 14.5% high phosphorus content, so it can provide a superior flame-retardant effect. Oxygen index can reach 32-33%, when the polyester chips are produced by adding 4-5% CEPPA by weight.
3. High reactivity of CEPPA contributes to the preparation of high molecular weight polyester chips. Additionally, our product is non-toxic and odorless. It provides high thermal stability, oxidation stability, and water stability.
4. As one kind of environment-friendly fire retardant, 2-Carboxyethyl (Phenyl) Phosphinic Acid is a perfect choice for PET chips manufacturers to produce high-quality flameproof polyester chips.
5. CEPPA had better dissolve in ethylene glycol for copolymerization. This method is also suitable for the flame-retarding modification of unsaturated polyesters.
