Fuse Cutout (12/15kV)

Product Profile
The PRW series fuse cutout is a kind of high-voltage electrical component manufactured by combining advanced international technologies and years of practical industry experience. Generally, this fuse cutout is applied to 12 or 15kV transformer or main and branch transmission lines, offering short-circuit and overload protection.

This high voltage fuse cut-out also enables current switching on and off. It totally conforms to GB/T15166.4-94, GB311.1-97, DL/T640-97 and DL/593-96 standards.

Working Principle of the Fuse Cutout
During normal operation, the fuse tube of our fuse cutout forms an enclosure by dint of fuse link. When system fault occurs, the fuse link will be immediately blown because of fault current, and then electric arc is formed. Later, the arc extinguishing tube heated by the electric arc will resolve a mass of gas, making the pressure inside the tube increase. With high pressure blowing the arc along the tube, finally the arc is extinguished.

Fuse Cutout (12/15kV)

After the fuse tube of our outdoor fused cutout is molten down, the lower contact drops down due to tension loss, and the fuse tube will be released by locking mechanism and then drops down to form distinct opening.

When the F-type outdoor high voltage fuse cutout is needed for current load cutting off, the top moving contact should be pulled by means of insulating rod. Once main and auxiliary contacts separate completely, arc striking should be applied to the auxiliary contact. Then the arc will be drawn out along the arc extinguishing chamber which produces masses of gas at the same time. The arc will be extinguished when current value crosses zero.

Fuse Link Characteristics

The fuse link of the cutout fuse is divided into K type and T type according to blowing characteristics. Based on IEC282 standard, it incorporates common type, universal type and thread type, and comes with following characteristics:

1. It boasts precision time-current characteristic. All elements are made from precisely detected high-purity silver, silver and copper low-melting alloy, and nickel-chrome alloy materials by means of elaborate assembly. Meanwhile, there is no fracture or shrinkage problem.

2. This fuse link adopted by our fuse cutout is configured with indefectible components. The connecting terminal and high-strength tensioned filament safely guarantees that the fuse link can bear more than 60N tension at any current level.

3. It also enables fault current cutting out. Specifically, first and secondary internal fault of transformers, short circuit of secondary transformer bushings, short circuit of air switch and secondary transformer bushings can be effectively interrupted to ensure normal operation of transformers.
