The screw and barrel are designed on the basis of modularization concept. Customer can use them in different combinations according to the technique requirements. The bimetal barrel of the TSS-75 high performance twin screw extruder has a water-cooling system. The screw element, which has deep troughs at both sides, is made of high-speed tool steel (6542). The steel is hardened with vacuum quenching technique, and the hardness could reach HRC 58-65. When the screw element is connecting with core shaft in involute spline form, the hardness of both the screw element and the core shaft is enhanced accordingly. Thus the twin screw extrusion machine can run at a higher speed.
