Currently, most of the enterprises utilize the round bar steel rolled by the steel mill as the steel grinding rod directly. The round bar steel has very low hardness of only 12HRC to 25HRC, and the internal stress, leading to broken damage easily and low wear resistance property. Meanwhile, the round bar steel comes with some defects such as loose and not compact internal structure. Just because of that, using the round bar steel for grinding would cause a series of problems such as large wear, easily bending, breaking, winding, two tapering ends, low productivity, failing to reach the expected qualified rate, heavy workload of the follow-up magnetic separation process, etc.

3. Carry out the inspection for the incoming raw material.
4. After being inspected to be qualified, the raw material is processed with professional quenching and high temperature tempering, heat treatment, straightness adjusting, and others by using the professional equipment and technology.
5. Inspect the finished steel grinding rod about the hardness, impact value, drop test, etc.
6. After being approved, all the finished products are stored into the warehouse for delivery.

3. Product Quality Inspection Provisions
a. The blanking of the steel grinding rod is implemented via the sawing machine. The dimensional tolerance would abide by the requirements of the order. After the implementation of blanking, the two ends of the raw material are polished into the R arc via the polishing machine.
b. The surface of the product for the rod mill cannot have the crack, overburning and fissure visible to the naked eyes.
c. The nonstraightness of the product is less than 0.2%. The diameter tolerance ranges from 0mm to -1.5mm. The length tolerance is from 0mm to -25mm. The fracture should be less than 3%.
4. Product Inspection Method
a. The surface quality of the steel grinding rod is checked via the naked eyes.
b. The dimension and the defect of the product are measured by employing the vernier caliper. The personnel should avoid the part with defect when doing the measurement. The length of the product is measured with the metric ruler.
c. Measure the surface hardness of one point per meter on the product, and then calculate the arithmetic mean value to get the surface hardness of the product.
d. When inspecting the nonstraightness, the personnel select 5 products randomly from the products of each work shift. Put the product onto the straightened steel shelf with one end aligning with the steel shelf. Then, measure the distance from the other end of the product to the straightened steel shelf. Each product needs to be rotated for at least three times.
5. Product Acceptance
a. The quality and the dimension of the steel grinding rod manufactured by each work shift are strictly inspected in line with the above standard. Only after passing the inspection can the product be stored into the warehouse.
b. Five products are randomly selected from the products of each work shift for hardness inspection. If there is one unqualified product, the re-inspection is conducted by choosing the product with the amount doubled. If there is still the unqualified one, and the average value of all the hardness values is compliant with the hardness requirement, then, we can say this batch of products is qualified. Otherwise, this batch of products is considered below the standard.
