The KXD series heatless regenerative desiccant dryer offers a simple, reliable and economical way to remove water from compressed air, and thus, it is an ideal compressed air solution to provide high quality compressed air for many instruments. After being processed by this industrial compressed air dryer, the compressed air usually has a pressure dew point of -40℃ at the outlet, and this value can be even lowered to -70℃.
This range of heatless regenerative desiccant dryer is especially suitable for compressed air systems which are exposed to ambient temperatures of 0℃ or below, as well as places that require compressed air with extremely low water content.
Features
1. Reliable Timed Control
Based on field-proven technology and reliable working principle, this heatless desiccant air dryer realizes precise control for all switching and purge valve actions.
For user convenience, the desiccant dryer is designed with an LED display to indicate the drying and regeneration sequences of the two towers.
2. High Quality Desiccant
The desiccant in two towers plays a very important role in removing moisture, and this heatless regenerative air dryer use high quality desiccant material to guarantee the best result.
3. Pressure Gauges
The pressure gauges are fabricated by stainless steel, and they are set on two towers to indicate the pressure inside during working.
4. Pressure Vessels (Optional)
This series of heatless regenerative desiccant dryer is available with optional pressure vessels which are manufactured in accordance with the requirements of ASME Section VIII, Div. 1.
5. Mounted Pre-filter and After-filter (Optional)
The heatless desiccant dryer can be optionally equipped with a coalescing filter to remove oil content in compressed air in case the activated alumina is contaminated.
Optional after-filter is also available, so as to prevent desiccant dust from migrating downstream.
6. Automatic Piston Valves (Optional)
These valves are sealed with durable polyurethane, so the service life is as long as 10 years.
7. Siemens PLC Controller (Optional)
Siemens LOGO!, S7200 and S7300 PLC controllers are optional for the heatless regenerative desiccant dryer.
8. Dew Point Display (Optional)
Our desiccant air dryer is able to detect dew point with the help of a high accuracy ceramic-type moisture sensor, and the reading is shown on the PLC controller.
9. -70℃ Dew Point (Optional)
For some special applications, compressed air needs to be extremely dry. This compressed air treatment equipment absolutely meets this demand by offering dew point as low as -70℃.
10. NEMA 4 Rated Electrical Enclosure (Optional)
Optional NEMA 4 and IP66 rated electrical enclosure is available to protect electrical components from falling, as well as severe external condensation.
Working Principle
The heatless regenerative desiccant dryer works based on the principle of pressure swing absorption. It typically consists of two desiccant towers which are filled with activated alumina, a kind of desiccant material. When saturated wet air flows up through one tower, the moisture in the compressed air will be absorbed by activated alumina, and then the dried airflow exits the tower and moves to the downstream system.
A proportion of this dried air flows into the other tower through an orifice and is depressurized to atmospheric pressure to regenerate the wet desiccant, and moisture in the desiccant is absorbed and purged to atmosphere.
About five minutes later, wet air changes its way from the original tower to the other tower, and this is achieved with the help of our control system. This switching process will repeat all the time to remove water in compressed air continuously.
