1 in the wire. Then Φ1 goes along the core through the primary coil and the secondary coil to form a closed magnetic circuit. In the secondary coil the product induces U2 while Φ1 will induce a self-induction E1 in the primary coil at the same time. Furthermore, E1 and U1 are in opposite directions and have similar magnitude, thus limiting the size of I1. In order to maintain the existence of magnetic flux Φ1, the product needs to have certain power consumption. Therefore, there is still current in the primary coil which is called "no-load current" while secondary coil has no load.
If the secondary coil is connected to load, it will generate current I2 and produce a magnetic flux Φ2. Φ2 and Φ1 are in opposite directions and have mutual counteracting effect, thus letting the total magnetic flux in the core decrease and reducing E1. As a result, I1 increases which shows that primary current and secondary load have close relation. When the secondary load current increases, I1 and Φ1 increases. Also, the increase of Φ1 just compensates the magnetic flux which is offset by Φ2 in order to keep the total magnetic flux constant. In addition, if we do not consider the wear of our product, secondary load power consumption of an ideal transformer can be considered as the obtained power of primary coil from current source. The product can change the secondary voltage by changing the number of secondary coil according to needs, but can not change the allowable load power consumption.
