By virtue of good corrosion resistance, low water absorption, and high mechanical strength, the 3 layer PE coated steel pipe has been more and more widely used as buried steel pipe for delivering oil, gas, and water in recent years.

Three-Layer Anticorrosion Structure
Layer 1: Fusion Bonded Epoxy (FBE) coating, thickness > 100μm
Layer 2: Adhesive coating, 170 - 250μm
Layer 3: PE coating, 2.5 - 3.7mm
The three kinds of materials combine into a whole and bond with the steel pipe tightly to form superior anticorrosive coating.
In the 3-layer PE anticorrosion structure, the fusion bonded epoxy powder coating integrates with the steel pipe firmly. It reacts with the active group of the middle copolymer adhesive layer to form chemical bonding. Thus, the whole anticorrosion coating can be ensured with good bonding property, chemical corrosion resistance and cathodic disbonding resistance property at high temperature.
