As white powder,zinc oxide is widely used as an additive in numerousmaterials and products including foods, plastics,ceramics, glass, cement, sealants, pigments, batteries, ferrites, lubricants,paints, ointments, adhesives, fire retardants, and first aid tapes. As a food additive, zincoxide is added to many food products, including breakfast cereals, as a sourceof zinc, a necessary nutrient. Some prepackaged foods also include traceamounts of zincoxide even if it is not intended as a nutrient.

As source of Zn nutrient, our zinc oxide is used for feed. It could promote growth andregeneration of tissue. Adding in the piglet feed, the zinc oxide can improvethe digestion function and prevent diarrhea. It could cure the damagedintestinal epithelium cells and improve nutrient absorption rate. When animals have noappetite, adding appropriate amount of zinc oxide in livestock and poultryfeed, the condition will be better.

As source of zinc, zinc oxide has lower cost. It is stable in feed, and haslittle effect on vitamins. In addition, it is easy to be absorbed for animals.Besides, reflecting the basic properties of zinc oxide,fine particles of the oxide have deodorizing and antibacterial properties andfor that reason are added into materials including cotton fabric, rubber, andfood packaging. Zinc oxide is widely used to treat a variety of other skinconditions. Zincoxide can be used in ointments, creams, and lotions to protect against sunburnand other damage to the skin caused by ultraviolet light.
