White or off-white powder, specific gravity of 1.29. TMTD is soluble in benzene, acetone, chloroform, and carbon disulfide and insoluble in water or gasoline.

6. Use
TMTD is used as a vulcanization accelerator in the rubber industry. It is mainly used in the manufacture of tires, inner tubes, rubber shoes, cables, and other rubber industrial products. It can also serve as fungicide and insecticide in agriculture. Additionally, it can be used as lubricant additive.
