The main production process of the taper shank drill bit includes roll forging or extruding, tip cutting, grinding false round tip, lathing the shank, heat treatment, centerless grinding, tip grinding and marking. The false round tip is the important link in the production process. It is the process datum and checking reference for the following processes. The runout check of the web thickness and flute land of the product as well as lathing shank are completed and inspected by positioning the sharpened round tip and tail center.
